ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Developed in collaboration with Valerian and Muller Engineering, this ecological park weaves together several natural ecosystems that provide wildlife habitat, along with a network of trails and spaces for outdoor recreation. At its center is an interactive Children’s Garden that lets kids explore how life in the region has changed over time. Just past the west entrance, a looping trail leads visitors past a resting buffalo herd, a hands-on teepee area, log bridges over a dry creek bed, a pioneer camp with lean-tos, and the remains of an early homestead, finishing at an orchard that incorporates trees already on the site. The garden is designed for low maintenance and open-ended, exploratory play.
