GLOBEVILLE

The Globeville Levee Improvements project is a critical initiative undertaken by the City of Denver in partnership with the Mile High Flood District (MHFD). With Naranjo Civil Constructors as the prime contractor, Wilson & Co. as the design engineers, Valerian as the landscape architect, and OV Consulting responsible for traffic control and public information, this project focuses on upgrading the flood control system along the west bank of the South Platte River, beginning at the 48th Avenue outfall. The improvements will address specific flood risks by raising the earthen embankment and floodwalls by one to three feet, significantly enhancing protection for the surrounding community.

Beyond its primary goal of flood mitigation, the project brings significant benefits to the Globeville community, including improved access to the South Platte River and enhanced neighborhood connectivity. The phased approach ensures minimal disruption to residents while incorporating environmentally sustainable practices and a strong focus on community needs. By fostering robust partnerships and emphasizing community engagement, Naranjo Civil Constructors and its collaborators are committed to delivering a project that not only strengthens flood protection but also enhances the overall resilience and quality of life in the Globeville neighborhood.
