ELC Flow Restoration

The ELC Flow Restoration Project, undertaken by Naranjo Civil Constructors in collaboration with J-2 Contractors, is a pivotal initiative aimed at revitalizing the natural flow dynamics of the Cache la Poudre River for the City of Fort Collins. This endeavor integrates innovative in-river techniques and sustainable erosion control measures to enhance ecological resilience and promote habitat restoration.

• In-River Work: The project involves a significant focus on in-river construction methodologies, necessitating precise engineering solutions to maintain the ecological balance of the watercourse.
• Boulder Drop Structures: Strategically placed boulder drop structures serve as key components in regulating flow dynamics, promoting sediment deposition, and fostering habitat diversity along the river corridor.
• Natural Riffle Elements: Implementation of natural riffle elements contributes to the creation of varied flow patterns, essential for aquatic habitat enhancement and sediment transport management.
• Unique Log Jam Structures: Incorporation of bespoke log jam structures offers multifaceted benefits, including streambank stabilization, creation of aquatic habitat niches, and enhancement of channel complexity.
