ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Nissen Reservoir Drainageway project is a crucial initiative undertaken by the City and County of Broomfield in partnership with the Mile High Flood District (MHFD). With Naranjo Civil Constructors as the prime contractor and ICON as the design engineers, this project aims to enhance flood control and drainage infrastructure from Tennyson Street to just upstream of Lowell Blvd. The project addresses a narrow channel and wide floodplain impacting local businesses and public safety. The team will protect the community and ensure a safer, more resilient future by improving drainage capacity and preventing flooding during significant precipitation events. The collaborative effort will mitigate the risk of flood damage, enhance public safety by preventing the overtopping of Perry Street, and comply with environmental regulations to preserve local ecosystems. This partnership demonstrates a solid commitment to sustainable infrastructure and community well-being.
