COLLABORATING WITH OWNERS TO ADD A RECREATIONAL COMPONENT TO RIVER PROJECTS

Naranjo Civil has taken many years of river construction expertise and teamed collaboratively with owners to add a recreational component to river projects. Storm water projects often allow compromised waterways to be reinvigorated with a combination of recreation and habitat enhancement to bring people back to the waterway. Development of the South Platte River Run Park is an example of the cutting-edge innovation and Naranjo’s willingness to take risks on new designs. Our team was part of the design process under UDFCD’S project partnering program (CMAR) and participated very early on in the design of Colorado’s only adjustable wave-shaper attraction. The wave shaper in the South Platte River at River Run Park engages long lines of surfers, kayakers, and rafters each and every sunny Colorado day. With a passionate drive to build “legacy” projects, Naranjo civil embraces the opportunity to build especially challenging projects in the volatile environment of a waterway. These recreational feats that are added to river projects display an exponential amount of complexity and detail.
